PHOTO RESTORATION EXAMPLE TWO

CASE STUDY # 2 – This gentleman’s image was taken as a in-studio, professional photo around 1925 to 1930. It came to Cider Mill Studio as a third generation copy of the original on a 7 x 5 in. silver image print chemically toned sepia. The customer wanted the image retouched and given the look of a fine oil painting. After spotting, restoring and retouching it was then given a digital treatment to simulate oil painting. After restoration it was printed on gallery wrapped canvas with a stretcher frame. The final product was difficult to distinguish from a genuine oil painting when hung in the customer’s home.
